Zi Jing Pi, or Cortex Kadsurae Radicis (Kadsura Root-bark), is derived from the dried root bark of Kadsura heteroclita or Kadsura interior. In Traditional Chinese Medicine, it is warm, pungent, and astringent, and enters the Liver meridian. Zi Jing Pi is widely used to invigorate blood circulation, dispel stasis, relieve swelling and pain, expel wind-dampness, and soothe itching, making it a versatile herb for treating traumatic injuries, rheumatic pain, and skin conditions caused by damp-heat.
