Mo Yao, or Myrrh, is a resin derived from Commiphora myrrha, a plant native to arid regions such as northeast Africa and Arabia. In Traditional Chinese Medicine, it is revered for its ability to invigorate blood, relieve pain, reduce swelling, and promote tissue regeneration. Bitter and neutral in nature, it enters the Heart, Liver, and Spleen meridians, and is frequently used for trauma, blood stasis pain, dysmenorrhea, chronic wounds, and topical injuries.
