Er Cha, or Catechu, is a concentrated extract derived from the heartwood of Acacia catechu (now also classified as Senegalia catechu). In Traditional Chinese and folk medicine, it is a classic astringent used to stop bleeding, promote healing, and relieve diarrhea and oral ulcers.
